Titan Swimmers Smash County Records
By the end of two days of hard fought competition they returned in triumphant mood with a magnificent haul of 11 Gold, 16 Silver and 8 Bronze medals. Swimming against the very best swimmers from all over the County they recorded 67 personal best times, broke 18 club records and smashed 4 all time County records. |

On the first day of the European Short Course Swimming Championships being held in Istanbul, Ellesmere College Titan Darren Mew helped the Men ’s 4x50m Medley Relay team to claim a new British record of 1:34.20 to take eighth place in the final.
The quartet of Darren Mew, Craig Gibbons, Antony James and Matthew Clay were pleased with the new record and their performance overall: “We all worked really hard for this,” said Clay. “We went in there with a target of getting the record and we just put our heads down and got on with the job.” [end]





Ellesmere College Titans swimmers stormed to victory at the first weekend of this year’s Shropshire County Swimming Championships held on 27th & 28th February at the Market Drayton Swimming Centre.
James Faure, age 21, of Ellesmere College Titans has qualified for next months Commonwealth Games trials which are being held on 29th March as part of the British Swimming Championships at Ponds Forge International Pool, Sheffield.
