11-APR-2011 | Hector Smashes British 10/u 1500m Record
On Easter Sunday at the Ponds Forge International Pool, Sheffield, Hector Pardoe, age 10, of Ellesmere College Titans, smashed the all time 10/u British 1500m Freestyle Long Course record in a time of 19:17.94.
Despite only having turned 10 a few weeks ago, Hector took nearly 10 seconds off the previous record of 19:27.73, which had been set back in 2009. This record adds to the 800m and 400m Freestyle and 200m Backstroke Long Course British Age Group Ranking records that Hector has previously set in the 9/u age category.

27-MAR-2010 | Titans Promoted to National Arena League First Division
The Titans are delighted to announce that following a review by the League committee - the club has been promoted for the forthcoming season to the National Arena League First Division. The decision follows the amalgamation of a couple of the other clubs within the League and is in recognition of our 4th place finish in last year’s final.
Commenting on this promotion Titans head coach Jon Pardoe said “I am absolutely delighted for everyone within the club. It’s very much a case of onwards and upwards at the Ttitans and we now need to rise to the added challenge of reaching the Premier League” [end]
25-MAR-2010 | Titans Add Cross Country to Training Schedule
The Titans have added a Thursday morning Cross Country run session to their weekly training schedule. The sessions are headed up by Neil Kershaw – himself an experienced runner. Each run will be of a 3-5 mile duration and take place at one of a number of scenic locations within a close proximity of Ellesmere. Last Thursday’s morning run saw Titan swimmers congregate at 7am amidst the mist at the beautiful glacial setting of Colemere.
Titan head coach Jon Pardoe said: “regular running brings with it huge cross training fitness benefits to swimmers. Most top international swimmers incorporate at least one weekly run into their training schedule – and what better way to do this than against the backdrop of some of the most glorious landscapes that England has to offer.” [end]

On the first day of the European Short Course Swimming Championships being held in Istanbul, Ellesmere College Titan Darren Mew helped the Men ’s 4x50m Medley Relay team to claim a new British record of 1:34.20 to take eighth place in the final.
The quartet of Darren Mew, Craig Gibbons, Antony James and Matthew Clay were pleased with the new record and their performance overall: “We all worked really hard for this,” said Clay. “We went in there with a target of getting the record and we just put our heads down and got on with the job.” [end]
