James Wilson Wins North Wales Top Swimming Award
At the recent North Wales Swimming Championships Ellesmere College Titan James Wilson, aged 11 was awarded the overall top 9-11 boys trophy.
The 2009 North Wales Annual Swimming Championships took place at the Llandudno Swimming Centre over the weekends of the 7th/8th and 14th/15th February.
James was competing against the best young swimmers in North Wales from more than 20 Swimming Clubs.
Medal Haul
In securing the top award he picked up a total of 4 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze medals recording Personal Best and Titan Club Record times in the 100m freestyle (1:06.67); the 800m freestyle (10:30.80); the 100m breaststroke (1:32.99) and the 200m Individual Medley (2:48.48).
Commenting upon his success James said “I’m absolutely delighted to have won this award. At Ellesmere College I’m swimming with some of the best young swimmers in the UK and I’ve developed an inner belief that anything is possible”.
Titan head coach Jon Pardoe commented “It is great news for both James and the Titans. James has worked hard on both his technique and fitness over the last few months and is a real credit to the club”.
