Alfie Achieves National Qualifying Timealifie pardoe

Last weekend Alfie Pardoe, aged 11, became the first Titan swimmer to obtain a National Qualifying Time. This was achieved in the 200m backstroke at the Derventio Excel Level 1 Open Meet which was held at Ponds Forge International Pool in Sheffield.

Recording a Long Course time of 2:42.19, Alfie won the gold medal and secured himself a place in Titan history by becoming the first Titan swimmer to achieve this feat.

Titans coach Jon Pardoe commented “This was a great moment in the Clubs very brief history. Hopefully it sets the standard of what is expected in this club. I’m hoping that achieving National Qualifying Times is a bit like waiting for a bus! You hang around for ages without one arriving and than several come within quick succession”.

Elliot Hughes was also in action over the weekend and secured a PB of 2:47.28 (S/C Conversion 2:44.98) in the 200m IM.
