James Wilson Records National Time at Midland Championships

James Wilson, age 11, pulled off a superb and very gutsy swim in the final of the 11/u boys 200m freestyle at last weekends Midland Championships, held in Coventry. In the knowledge that this was his “last chance saloon” he doggedly kept up with the leaders recording a time of 2:23.38 and finishing fifth.

Titan head coach Jon Pardoe said “this was the last of three races for James on the Saturday and it didn’t start until around 7.30pm. For him to have swum at that pace so late on in the day showed real determination, fighting spirit and a never say no attitude. I was jumping up and down poolside in excitement for him”.

James was accompanied in the final by fellow Titan Alfie Pardoe who came 6th - following what was by his standards a disappointing first weekend.

Other Titan swimmers in action were Hannah Greene and Elliot Hughes.
