Titans Awarded £10,000 Lottery Money
The Titans are delighted to have been awarded a £10,000 National Lottery funded grant.
The grant, awarded by Sport England, will help fund significant improvements to the clubs existing strength and core body training facilities including the equipping of a state of the art Trixter X-Biking studio and the purchase of a number of specialist poolside Swim Benches imported from the US. Some of the money will also be used to finance the coaching costs of a new Junior Development Squad which is to be launched in September.
Commenting upon the grant Titans Head Coach Jon Pardoe said “Everyone in the club is over the moon. It is magnificent recognition of the challenging and innovative approach we take to swim training. In particular we are delighted to have been able to team up with Trixter to incorporate X-Biking into our training regime. The swimmers love it, we love it and the competition better beware”
“One of our club mottos is Think Big…Win Big. In this instance it has definitely paid off”.
Sporting excellence within rural Britain
Ellesmere College headmaster, Brendan Wignall said “In just one year since their formation in 2008, the Titans have become a beacon of opportunity and a model for sporting success within a rural community. Looking beyond all the normal disadvantages associated with achieving sporting excellence within rural Britain, the Titans have been able to put together a package combining first class facilities with top level coaching. It is a package which now gives serious swimmers within Shropshire the ability to reach their goals”.
