Titans Coach Awarded Place on the ASA Advanced Coaching Programme
Titans Coach Jon Pardoe is delighted to have been awarded one of only 10 places in the West Midlands on the new ASA Advanced Coaching Programme. Hundreds of the UKs top coaches applied for just 80 places to become part of this ambitious new coaching programme developed by the ASA Coaching Systems and Talent Development teams. In the words of the ASA “
The programme offers a structured process of mentoring, support and development through access to the ASA Beacon centres and the ASA Talent Development team. At absolutely no cost to the coach or club, it will provide coaches with the opportunity to shape their future in coaching with a programme of observation/analyses of coaching sessions, one to one discussions, coaching at regional Beacon programmes and attendance at talent camps.
Targeted Support
Colin Huffen, ASA National Education Officer, said: “The aim of the Advanced Coaching Offer is to provide targeted support to the most proactive, talented, developing coaches across England over a four year period. The ASA are investing approximately £10million in coach education, development and support to ensure gold medal success in London 2012 and the legacy beyond. This programme will provide essential support for coaches to develop and flourish and help us to achieve this. This is the first programme of this type for developing coaches and is an excellent opportunity for them to really push their careers forward. It will also provide future benefits as afterwards they will provide support to other coaches within their locality.”
Commenting on the news of his selection Jon Pardoe said “This award is a big boost to the Titans and recognition of our growing reputation in the region for developing and nurturing exceptional young swimming talent”.
