Titans Reach Final of National Swimming League
Last Saturday 14th November saw the Titans travel to Kendal to compete in the round two of the Arena National Swimming League.
With a team of just 26 swimmers the Titans arrived knowing that they had a real gladatorial fight on their hands if they were to reach the prestigious final on the 12th December.
Following a superb team effort in Round one, back at the beginning of October, the Titans went into this second round gala in 4th place in a league of twenty teams which include Warriors of Warrington, Ulveston, Liverpool Penguins, Wigan, Gateshead and, Swim Gwynedd.
By the end of the gala the Titans had almost certainly swum their way into the final by finishing in third position on the night, having faced stiff competition from two of the three teams above them in the league, finishing behind both Gateshead and Ulveston but in front of Wigan, Prescot, and Chadderton.

Stacey Tadd once again demonstrated her status as one of Britain’s most versatile female swimmers with an emphatic victory in the galas first event - the Open Ladies 100m IM in a time of 1:04.76. Later in the gala she stormed to victory in the Open Ladies 100m breaststroke in 1:10.72. Despite suffering from a severe bout of sickness former Olympic swimmer Darren Mew, demonstrated why he has been selected to represent Britain at the forthcoming European short course championships and rallied to the occasion winning both the Open Mens 100m IM and 100m breaststroke events.
Over the course of the 50 events Titan swimmers securded 10 first places, recorded a total of 15 Personal Best times and broke 9 Club Records.

Naomi Craig, James Wilson, Jimmy Kershaw, Ryen Spencer-Wolfe, Sam Holland, and Eleanor Shields.
The Titans now move into the League final on December 14th knowing that a top three finish will secure them promotion to the First Division.
