Top Young Lancashire Swimmer Joins Titans

12 year old Lucy Rowland is the latest swimmer to have been awarded a swimming scholarship to attend Ellesmere College.

Lucy, who currently attends St Mary’s Hall Stonyhurst School in Lancashire and swims for Burnley Bobcats will be joining Ellesmere College and the Ellesmere College Titans elite swimming programme in September.

Lucy took up swimming at the age of 5 and this year achieved 8 regional qualifying times.

Titan’s coach Jon Pardoe commented “Lucy’s positivity and enthusiasm is infectious. I’m really excited about helping her develop her undoubted talent”.

Commenting upon joining the Titans Lucy said “I’ll be sad to be leaving Stoneyhurst school but optimistic that the superb facilities at Ellesmere will enable me to eventually swim at an even higher level and one day achieve my dream of making the Olympic team”.
