Titans Fight to Reach Arena Final

natioinal swimming leagueOn Saturday 8th October the Titans made their eagerly anticipated debut in the National Arena Premier League >>. Having been promoted in three consecutive back to back seasons the Titans took on the might of the City of Liverpool, Preston, Warriors of Warrington, Cockermouth, Satellite of Macclesfield, Barrow and Trafford Metro.

During the course of the 50 events we notched up a magnificent total of 26 PBs, 14 Club Records and amassed a total of 195 points - which was exactly the target that had been set at the outset. Most importantly and despite missing a number of key swimmers, we secured the points needed - to give ourselves a real opportunity – going into Round 2 - of reaching the final.

It's now very much the case of onwards and upwards to the next Round 2 gala on Saturday 12th November.

Head Coach Jon Pardoe said “Make no mistake Saturday was a tale of David versus Goliath - a small squad of less than 38 swimmers – having only been founded 3 years ago against big city clubs such as City of Liverpool, Preston and Warrintgton - often drawing the best swimmers from other satellite feeder clubs. Each and every swimmer who took part and even those that didn't quite make the team should feel very proud of the clubs achievement”.

The Premier League Table after Round 1 stands as follows:

346 - Preston
340 - Stockport Metro
332 - City of Salford
307 - City of Liverpool
279 - Warriors of Warrington
250 - Cockermouth
244 - Southport
209 - Carnforth Otters
203 - Satellite of Macclesfield
195 - Ellesmere College Titans
175 - Ulverston

168 - City of Chester
156 - Pioneer 79
108 - Barrow
103 - Trafford Metro
