Sunderland Firecracker Meet

The Titans returned from last weekend’s City of Sunderland Open Meet in largely triumphant mood.

Competing against some of the best swimmers in the North of England and Scotland from over 40 clubs, Titans swimmers notched up over 40 Personal Best times and smashed numerous all time club records.  The Titans finished 6th in the overall team points table – above Garioch who were spearheaded by British Olympian Hannah Miley.
One of the highlights of the meet was seeing Llawen Rossell-Smith lining up in the final of the girls 100m breaststroke against Hannah Miley.

Elinor Southward broke the all time Titan 10/u girls record in the 200m Fly (3:24.10) and the 200m IM (2:56.50); whilst Tyler Mclean picked up 3 gold medals in the 50m, 100m & 200m 11/u breaststroke and smashed the 11/u boys 50m breast record in a time of 0:38.81. Hector Pardoe won 6 gold medals and broke his own existing Titan 200m back record and also smashed the previous City Of Sunderland Championship record in a time of 2:40.5.

Other Titan swimmers who took part consisted of  Murrin Dalrymple, Alfie Pardoe, Elliot Hughes, Jimmy Kershaw, Michael Doyle, Anouska Gwilliam, Sam Holland, Llawen Rossell-Smith, Phillip Oliver, Chantelle Ridgway, Rosie Holland, Amy Latham, Jack Bacon, Kieron Morris, Thomas Holland and Eden Moseley.
