Hector Smashes British Record
10 year old Titan – Hector Pardoe – was back on form at the recent Northampton SC Level 1 Open
meet - smashing his existing all time UK No 1 ranking record and becoming the first 10 year old in
Britain to qualify in any event for next year's National Age Group Championships.
The meet which was held over the weekend of 16th-18th Dec at the East Midlands International Pool in Corby was attended by swimmers from all over the UK including 50m backstroke world record holder Liam Tancock and double Commonwealth gold medallist Ross Davenport.
Smashing his existing all time British Ranking Record by more than 31 seconds – Hector set a new benchmark for distance age group swimming completing the 1500m in a time of 18:44.55. This is now more than 43 seconds faster than the second fastest time ever recorded by a British 10 year old.
Other Titan swimmers who competed at Corby included James Norman, Alfie Pardoe, Michael Doyle, Luke Parker, Ellinor Southward, Chantelle Ridgway, Llawen Rossell-Smith, Ellie Russell, Ellie Hutchings and Sam Holland.
